I am an MFA candidate in printmaking at Arizona State University. My thesis work involves creating images inspired by the Victorian practice of commemorating loss through acts of remembrance. My own life has been deeply etched by loss due to the death of my mother when I was eight. I find beauty in memorials whether they are deeply personal or completely public. Through my work I would like to encourage a dialogue about loss, death and remembrance. For Mac users this site is best viewed with the Safari browser.

Art Detour March of 2007 First Studio, Phoenix, AZ

During the show We Are All In This Together I presented another version of this project where instead of just sending me their responses, the viewer was also informed of this blog and that their response would be scanned and added here. This allows viewers to read the handwritten letters that I have received in the mail and participate in this dialogue even of they have not seen the physical piece of art. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave your own letters in the comments sections
